A passenger riding in a van was killed in a collision on the northbound New Jersey Turnpike.
The collision occurred just before 10:40 p.m. on April 30., 2023 in the right liane on the Turnpike near Exit 13 in Elizabeth. Dawn Cole, 80, of East Norwich, New York, was pronounced dead by State Police after the van she was trailing in was struck by a tractor-trailer. The 59-year-old driver of the van is from Farmingdale, New York, and was hospitalized with critical wounds. The driver of the truck that struck the van was unharmed.
New Jersey State Police continue to investigage the accident.
