Swedish app detects motorcycle accidents

Sweden is testing a new smartphone app that detects motorcycle accidents, and can alert emergency medical services upon a collision. The new alerting system, appropriately named SOS Alarm runs off an algorithm developed at Chalmers University of Technology. The algorithm uses built-in accelerometers, found in many of today’s smartphones to detect an accident, and will automatically call for help. If its proves effective, it may open up the conversation to implement something like this here in the states. What do you think?
